Kerala school Athletic meet 2011 - 2012

55th Kerala State School Athletics Championship 2011 started at Ernakulam Maharajas College Ground.

Jijin and Rangitha were became Fastest of Kerala Athletic meet 2011 – 2012. Jijin Vijayan is studying in Kothamangalam HSS and Rangitha from Thalasseri Sai Sports School.

MD Thara from Palakkad Parali School bagged the gold with record on 5000 meter running. She finished in 17 minutes and 28 seconds. Vibitha from the same Parali School got the second prise.

His score remains the highest individual score in ODI cricket - 219 off 149 balls.He is the only player in world to score a double hundred in ODI and a triple hundred in Test Cricket. Virender Sehwag pronunciation (born 20 October 1978), affectionately known as Viru, the Nawab of Najafgarh, or the Zen master of modern cricket,is one of the leading batsmen in the Indian cricket team. Sehwag is an aggressive right-handed opening batsman and a part-time right-arm off-spin bowler.

He played his first One Day International in 1999 and joined the Indian Test cricket team in 2001. In April 2009, Sehwag became the only Indian to be honoured as the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World for his performance in 2008,subsequently becoming the first player of any nationality to retain the award for 2009.


 On 8 December 2011, he hit his maiden double century in ODI cricket, against West Indies, becoming the second batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to reach the landmark.

Arakkuparamba - Malappuram

Arakkuparamba is a village in Malappuram district in the state of Kerala, India.

As the name ( Arakku = iron core, paramaba = land) says, the place was once famous for mining iron ore. Arakkuparamba and Aliparamba are neighbouring places. The iron ore mined from Arakkuparamba was converted into iron plates and rods at Aliparamba. Ore melting technology was known to the ancient inhabitants. Ayirumada (or iron ore mining places) can still be seen there.

This place was under the control of Chera Kings and was under the Nedunganad Principality. The Zamoothiri of Calicut defeated Nedungadees of Nedunganad and brought this place under their control.

Remnants of ancient temples are seen at different places. With the help of local people, these temples are being renovated.

Karuthedath Mana is famous Namboodiri Illam in Arakkuparamaba. This family is the ooralan (owner) for the famous Thirunarayanapuram temple. Currently the AUP school is managing by the Karuthedam Mana. Late Karuthedath Mana Sreekumaran Namboodiri was the founder of the First Bank in Arakkuparamaba.
